Beijing Changping Tiantongyuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital was established in May 2005 and is currently a grade-two-class-A traditional Chinese medicine hospital (non-profit hospital). It is a member unit of Beijing Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a member unit of Beijing Medical Insurance Association. It is a designated medical institution for basic medical insurance in Beijing (medical insurance number: 14151002). The hospital established the Beijing Emergency Center Tiantongyuan Rescue Station in April 2006, providing a rescue channel for community residents on a 24-hour basis. After years of unremitting efforts by the hospital, it officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Capital Medical University Affiliated Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine on March 2, 2016, and was officially designated as Capital Medical University Affiliated Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Technical Cooperation Hospital. On March 25, 2024, the hospital will be renamed Beijing Changping Tiantongyuan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

The hospital has 19 primary clinical departments, including general medicine, internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, ophthalmology, dermatology, medical cosmetology, stomatology, otorhinolaryngology, emergency medicine, occupational disease department, end-of-life care department, anesthesia department, traditional Chinese medicine department, integrative traditional Chinese and Western medicine department, medical examination department, and medical imaging department; and 26 secondary clinical departments, including respiratory department, brain disease department, cardiovascular disease department, endocrinology department, digestive disease department, nephrology department, geriatrics department, dental pulp disease, dental implant, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, etc. It has three wards, including the first internal medicine ward, the second internal medicine ward, and the obstetrics and gynecology ward, with a total of 100 beds. It has ordinary wards and VIP wards, which can meet the inpatient treatment needs of patients with different needs.

The supporting departments include the Department of Medical Imaging (X-ray Diagnosis Specialty, CT Diagnosis Specialty, MRI Diagnosis Specialty, Ultrasound Diagnosis Specialty, Electrocardiography Diagnosis Specialty), the Pharmacy Department, etc. They are equipped with a Siemens 1.5T magnetic resonance imaging system, a GE 16-slice CT scanner imported from the United States, an AGFA X-ray digital imaging system imported from Germany, an oral CT, a C-arm; a full-automatic biochemical analyzer, a full-automatic hematology analyzer, a coagulation analyzer, a glycated hemoglobin analyzer, an electrolyte analyzer, a blood rheology analyzer, an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) analyzer, a washing plate machine, and an Abbott blood gas analyzer from the United States. They also have medical equipment such as a Philips ultrasound from the United States, a Baxter ultrasound from the United States, a transcranial Doppler ultrasound, a bone density test, a transcranial Doppler, a pulmonary function test, and an external peripheral artery test. These medical equipment provide precise examinations and treatments for patients.

The hospital has gathered a team of experts led by traditional Chinese medicine experts, covering Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Third Affiliated Hospital of TCM University, Shuangjing Hospital, the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital, People's Hospital, Xuanwu Hospital, the Coal Mine General Hospital, and the Beijing Maternity and Child Health Hospital, among others, from several grade-A three hospitals and the Erlangyuan Hospital of the Two-Dragon Road. They participate in outpatient clinics and ward management.
